Diabetic discussion group meeting Wednesday

If you are an adult with diabetes or are interested in learning more about diabetes, you are welcome to attend the monthly diabetic education discussion and support group. At the April 1 meeting, they will be discussing eye health and diabetes with Dr. Joshua McAdams. The meeting is held in Summit Healthcare’s Conference Room 2 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. No sign up is necessary and there is no fee. Call 928-537-6548 for more information.

Volunteers still needed for Pinetop-Lakeside Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny and the Pinetop-Lakeside Parks and Recreation Department are looking for volunteers to help with the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Woodland Lake Park Saturday, April 4. Egg “hiding” begins at 8:30 a.m., with the Easter Bunny arriving at 10:30 a.m. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. and is over within minutes.

Rotary student of the month

Each month the Rotary Club of the White Mountains honors students from the local high schools who have been nominated by their counselors for excellence in academics, school participation and leadership. Pictured are John Miller of White Mountain Rotary Club, William Walters, student of the month for Show Low High School, and Dustin Jones of National Bank of Arizona. The White Mountain Rotary Club is heavily involved with youth projects in the White Moutains. Projects include Student of the Month, college scholarships for seniors, RYLA, a Rotary Youth Leadership Camp, and Foreign Exchange Student Program. The local Rotary Club also is heavily involved with the Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Drive in connection with the Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District as well as other local projects. Anyone interested is welcome to join the group for lunch Mondays from 12-1 p.m. at Licano's Mexican Restaurant in Show Low (no meetings on national holidays).

The White Mountain Fly Fishing Club will hold its last free fly tying lessons from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Navajo County Health Building in Show Low. Members of the club will conduct the instruction.
