The economy is improving because people are spending more because inflation is raising prices because the government prints more debt coupons...

Cam, I know you are just kidding. Thank G*d. But lots of people really believe that all it takes for an economic improvement is higher retail sales. That used to be true when most of what you and I bought was made in the USA. But these days, higher retail sales mean that we go to the store and buy lots of imported stuff, and that makes our underlying economy worse.

When I listen to or read the financial news, I automatically dismiss the importance of the stock market and retail, and listen for jobs created and unemployment figures, along with the reports of the manufacturing sector.

Tax breaks for corporations to bring jobs back to the U.S. A. and those that need help in start up a business......but blanket tax breaks for all rich corporations and rich people that are not creating jobs...absolutley not!

Al, you know i agree with you on this differentiation.

But Mr. Whiplash? I hope you are kidding about tax breaks for retail chain operations and especially Stores like Walmart.. I would shy away with a tax break for any corporation whose essential business is to bring in Cheap Chinese Products that undermine our economy.

As Al and I seem to agree . . . . . the whole reason for the tax incentives should be to encourage all size companies to create jobs just by existing here in our nation and add to the currency flow and wealth of the USA.

You see, Al, we still agree on this issue, just like we did a year ago. The fact that Obama is pressing to do exactly that, is one of the good things he has done.

If I regard the belief sets of people like you, Ron, Russ, Julius, and Jim Beck, plus Dara Vanesdian as I would a Venn Diagram of non-verbal logic, I can see that we overlap by about 25% in our views. On an additional 40% It looks like even our differing points of view are loosely compatible.

One of the problems is, some people use blame and accusation on the non-agreement issues, and this stalls out the sorts of improvements that could otherwise be made if we focused sharply on what we agree can be done in each of our confor zones- locally and nationally.

Why would a corporation create jobs in america when they are already making huge profits? Why would they create jobs for $15-20 when they can pay someone in china $5 a day? they won't!!
