2016 HOOPS & MATS - Playoff Extra: Division 3 boys basketball No. 3 Lobos claim top seed for sectionals

The Snowflake boys basketball team is on a winning streak, having wrapped up a 25-3 overall record and a No. 3 spot in the latest Arizona Interscholastic Association Division 3 rankings. The Lobos are the top seed in this week’s D3 Section 1 Tournament and a favorite to defend their state title in the state tourney later this month.

Division 4 boys basketball: No. 4 Falcons top seed at Flagstaff sectional

After winning 14 straight games then losing two straight to a couple of top-flight teams (Snowflake and Window Rock), the Alchesay boys won their last two regular-season contests to improve to 22-5 overall and to a fourth-place position in the latest Division 4 rankings by the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

Falcons poised for playoffs as section's top seed

The Alchesay boys basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak to a pair of top Division 3 teams with a Div. 4, Section 1 win, 72-36, at Keams Canyon Hopi on Tuesday. The Falcons, ranked No. 5 in Wednesday’s Arizona Interscholastic Association D4 rankings, closed the regular season at home Thursday night against No. 25 St. Johns.
