P.E.O. Sisterhood selects Navajo Nation recipient

Cherilyn Sells (third from left) of Chinle, has been awarded a $1400.00 grant by the Program for Continuing Education (PCE) Project of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Local Chapter FA sponsored Sells for this grant. The PCE Project is for those women who have had to interrupt their education to enter the workforce or to start a family. The monies from this project will help Sells return to college to complete her education. She will be obtaining an AA in the Spring of 2020 with a goal to become a substance abuse counselor and/or school counselor on the Navajo Reservation, where the suicide rate is very high. She is currently interning at the Navajo Nation Dept. of Behavioral & Mental Health Services. For information about the grants/scholarships/loans available to women through the P.E.O. Sisterhood, visit www.peointernational.org. Also pictured with Sells (from left) are Joyce Komer (P.E.O.) Sheri, Cherilyn's mother, and Linda Nadel (P.E.O.)
