FORT APACHE — The annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 1, at Bog Tank on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, hosted by White Mountain Apache Game & Fish Department.

Bog Tank is 12 miles east of Hondah, on State Route 260.

This event is free to all kids 14 and younger. Bring your fishing pole and bait. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Bog Tank will be stocked with trout for the event. Small fishing tanks with supplied fishing poles and bait will be available for kids 2-6 years old. Free food and drinks will be provided. Prizes awarded for largest fish caught to a boy and girl in different age categories. This is a family event, no drugs or alcohol will be allowed.
