The annual Kids Fishing Derby sponsored by White Mountain Apache Game & Fish Department will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 2, at Bog Tank on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. Bog Tank is 12 miles east of Hondah on Arizona state route 260. This is a family event, drug and alcohol free.

The derby is for all kids 14 and younger. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m.

Bog Tank will be stocked with trout just for this event. Small fishing tanks with supplied fishing poles and bait will be available for kids 2-6 years old. Free food and drinks will be provided. Prizes will be awarded for “largest” fish caught to a boy and girl in different age categories, 15 years and older can help the kids, but cannot fish. Don’t forget to bring your fishing pole and bait.
