SPRINGERVILLE — Winter is quickly closing in on us and Christmas is just around the corner. The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests are again offering Christmas tree tags to help you continue your family traditions, or to create new ones. Tags are now on sale until the close of business Dec. 24.

The tags are still $15 each and can be purchased at all of the district offices and the Supervisors Office. When a Christmas tree is purchased you will be issued a map of the cutting area and cutting instructions for the area that you wish to cut in.

You may also send a self-addressed stamped envelope with a money order or personal check for the correct amount to any of the district offices (except Clifton), or the Supervisors Office. Remember to let them know which area you want to cut in, ensuring you get the correct cutting area map.

Call the local district office for mailing addresses:

Alpine District: 928-339-5000; Black Mesa District: 928-535-7100; Lakeside District: 928-368-2100; or Springerville District: 928-333-6200.

For more information, visit website: www.fs.usda/gov/main/asnf.passes-permits or call the Christmas tree hotline at 928-333-6229.
