The Navajo County Sheriff's Office personnel and specialists will be holding a training academy at the Northern Arizona Training Center on Papermill Road in Taylor.

Applications are being taken and are submitted to the Sheriff's Office for a background check and clearance. Each applicant will be interviewed by the director of their nearest area unit. Check for the units in the county and their meeting days by calling President Efrain Quihuis at (928) 535-9085.

Information booths will be available at the various functions in your city as well. Those interested may receive the required application form by calling the phone number listed above. The training will take place each Tuesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. for six weeks commencing Aug. 11.

The Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteers is a very professional organization which aids the Sheriff's Office in the effort to serve the community.
