God Bless the U.S.A.

Round Valley Elementary School honored those who have served and continue to serve our country. The students created patriotic decorations, wrote thank you letters, and read “Why I am Proud to be an American” essays in honor of our Veterans. Guest speakers Larry Gerres, Chief Petty Officer USN and Lieutenant Colonel, Robert Gerlach shared their experiences and answered student questions. Leland Crowther, 101st Airborne U.S. Army, sang God Bless the U.S.A. and students were more than excited to sing along. At right: RVES essay winners, from left, Elena Arter, Ashlyn Haws, Shantiyana Yazzie, wrote and read the essays “Why I am Proud to be an American.”
