SHOW LOW — Stage 3 fire restrictions remain in effect for the City of Show Low. Despite the recent monsoon weather, rainfall has not been widespread or significant enough to warrant decreasing or removing the restrictions at this time. In addition, firefighting resources are stretched thin as they diligently work to suppress any fires caused by lightning or human activity. The restrictions will be lifted once officials deem fire danger has abated appreciably.
As a reminder, Stage 3 restrictions prohibit all campfires; charcoal fires; smoking outside an enclosed vehicle or building; using an internal combustion engine for mechanical or industrial operations that produce open flames or sparks; outdoor welding or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame; explosives, explosive targets, tracer round ammunition and fireworks; and vehicles traveling off designated roads
Uses allowed under Stage 3 restrictions include a device fueled by liquefied petroleum or natural gas that can be turned on and off used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three feet of the device; a generator with an approved spark-arresting device used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three feet of the device; and a lawn mower and/or landscaping equipment in a maintained landscape space.
