In remembrance and solidarity — community is family

Community members, family, friends and members (top photo) of the first responder family along with Cathy Reed and son, Chance Reed (pictured above) join together outside the Show Low Public Safety Headquarters Friday, Nov. 8. Over 75 people attended the candlelight vigil in honor of fallen Show Low Police Officer Darrin Reed (C56) who was killed in the line of duty Nov. 6, 2016. A unique remembrance flag with Officer Reed’s call sign, badge number and End of Watch date will fly for one week each year, which started Nov. 8. Navajo County Sheriff’s Office dedicated a plaque in Ofc. Reed’s name at the County Courthouse in Holbrook at 9 a.m. that morning.
