Culver's Restaurant construction

A lot has being cleared for the construction of the new Culver's Restaurant.

SHOW LOW — Developers broke ground for construction of a Culver’s Restaurant and drive-through on the northeast corner of State Route 260/White Mountain Road in Show Low on Monday, July 1.

Franchisees Steve and Catherine Chlupsa own the Culver’s Restaurant in Payson. The 4,000 square-foot restaurant will become their second, independently owned Culver’s franchise.

The Chlupsa’s have also agreed to build a right-hand turn lane to mitigate traffic congestion on Evergreen Lane. This decision was added to the development plans last summer following a Show Low city council meeting where a handful of residents expressed concerns about increased traffic on Evergreen Lane.

Chlupsa was present at the council meeting and discussed options with residents, the council and the Show Low Planning and Zoning Commission. Revised plans were submitted to include the turn lane.

In addition, the city of Show Low will work with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to create a northbound deceleration lane off of White Mountain Road/SR260. The addition of this lane on SR260/White Mountain Road is intended to enhance safety when exiting the highway.

The anticipated completion date for the construction project is December, 2019.

Culver’s are described as independently owned family restaurants with fast food and table service. They are known for their burgers, chicken tenders, frozen custard and Wisconsin cheese curds.
