Freedom over fear protest (Truck Stop)

Protesting what they called “the outrageous Executive Order from Gov. Doug Ducey,” the Truck Stop in Wagon Wheel invited vendors from the Show Low Farmer’s Market — which shut down for public safety due to reports of an increase in COVID-19 cases — to join them for a Freedom Over Fear Protest event on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Music was by the Heber Ridge Band and they had games and prizes for the public which included “a $25 Gift Card to The Truck Stop’s owner Mike Meixler’s favorite protest sign.” Beers were on a donation basis and those proceeds went to the White Mountain Coalition Against Homlessness. According to Todd Ayer of the Sunday Gospel Hour at The Truck Stop, hundreds at a time passed through the event from opening until closing. The event was posted on their business sign facing White Mountain Road and on The Truck Stop Facebook page stating, “Without data on the increased hospitalizations, intubations, or fatalities this EO is ultimately a usurpation of our right to freely and peacefully assemble!” It was indeed Independence Day.

Well, that's the last time I give The truck stop my business. Any business which has political views against fighting this virus should keep them to theirselves. You may lose a lot of customers who may not have the same views. Fear? You bet. This is no ordinary flu and it's spreading like wildfire.

I agree with you. I having 2 friends who are nurses one in ICU they both said the highest increase in severe cases are 20-40 males. Unfortunately they go to the ER when their symptoms are already severe and they are dying. One of them has been asking if they wore masks,of the people she has asked between 65-70 out of a hundred said no not on a regular basis. So if you don;t wear a mask and you congregate in close quarters, you will probably come into contact with someone who may not know they have the virus. If you get it being healthy is no guarantee you will survive, this virus doesn't care if you are young, old, famous, criminal, religious , atheist healthy or not it's an equal opportunity killer.

I was excited to see this event! Land of the Free and Home of the Brave
