Applications are being accepted for the Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteers of Navajo County. The academy training will begin Sept. 17, at the Northern Pioneer College Campus in Snowflake. There are six weeks of classes taught by qualified instructors held each Monday and Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.

The SAVs are the professional community servers of our area who assist in critical situations as road blocking for forest fires, securing a crime scene and serving as the eyes and ears for sheriff's deputies.

It is a proud organization that also serves as crowd control, safety management, parking and any duties to be served at festivities held throughout the county. You may serve in many areas under the direction of the local unit director. If you wish to request information and an application call Fran Quihuis, president, at (928) 535-9085 or cell (928) 240-2029.
