Receiving recognition before the Pinetop-Lakeside Town Council Oct. 3, for winning or placing in the City of Show Low’s 5th annual Public Works Equipment Rodeo and Safety Training last month are (from left) Public Works Director Matt Patterson; Dustin Whipple — first in grader event; Clay Reidhead — first in a mini excavator event; Michael Mettie — second in a backhoe event, and Fernando Ortiz — third in the skid steer event. Patterson also acknowledged Recreation Coordinator Malaina Spillman (not pictured) for being one of two women that competed. Patterson said this event helps improve skills and enhance safety for the employees.
