PTLS honors District Ranger Ed Collins

Paying tribute to Ed Collins for his 48 years of dedicated service with the US Forest Service and 32 years as the district ranger for the Lakeside Ranger District, Mayor Stephanie Irwin presented Collins with a special plaque of recognition. Members of the council individually expressed their appreciation to Collins for all he had contributed to the community. Collins said, “One of the neat things about the White Mountains is the willingness of people and organizations to get involved.” He went on to say that when he first got here his goal was to stay 15 years to get his kids through high school; when that occurred, his wife told him she would like to stay; he managed to convey that to five different superiors over the years. Going forward in retirement, Collins said, “We are not moving, but we do want to travel.”
