James Allen

James L. Allen, 75, of Snowflake, died April 22, 2019. He was born May 4, 1943, in St. Clair, Michigan, to the late Holley and Margaret Allen.

James served our country in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1963. He worked for Grand Trunk Railroad for several years before becoming a detention officer with the Phoenix Police Department from which he retired. He was also an instructor of Tang Soo Do Karate of which he was a 5th Dan (Kodanja), and taught others for many years. He also loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; son James; four grandchildren, Christopher, Jesse, April, and Jacob; two sisters, Marilyn Harper, and Judith (Robert) LaDuke; brothers-in-law, Fred, Frank (Janet), Robert (Barb), Larry, and Joseph Allen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Renee; nephews Buddy and Richard Allen, Eric Sturdevant; and niece Kelley Sharrow.
