James Crawford Kear left the earthly realm June 15, 2019 at his sister's home in Pinetop. He was born Dec. 13, 1963, in Flagstaff.
Jim lived in Flagstaff until 1971 when the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. The family then moved back to Arizona in 1975 and settled in Lakeside, where Jim attended Blue Ridge High School and graduated in 1981.
Jim married his first wife, Carolyn Desper June 9, 1984, they were blessed with the birth of two daughters, Marcia Mae Kear and Charity Lynn Kear. He also had two grandchildren, Carol Mae Christian and Eda Elnor Christain.
Jim joined the Air Force and while he was stationed in Minot, North Dakota, and RAF Greenham Common, England. He was given an honorable discharge in 1988 and moved to Michigan. Jim worked in graphic arts and printing for the majority of his post-military career beginning in 1988.
Jim married his second wife, Candice De-Vito April 7, 1989. They were blessed with six children: Kourtnie Faith Kear, Logan Ringo-James (Erica) Kear, Jason Kyle (Angie) Kear, Trenton Crawford Kear, Joseph Russell Kear and Rachel Ruth Vito. He had five grandchildren: Rowan Thomas Kear, Lena Mae Kear, Liam Kyle Kear, Oliver Arnold Kear and Amya Jae Kear.
Jim pursued an associate in arts degree in computer programming from ITT in 1991 and graduated with honors.
Him was a foster parent from 1995 until 2003, working with the state of Michigan and caring for children ranging from six weeks old to age 18. He worked with special needs children, delinquent teenagers and adopted children.
Jim loved going hunting and fishing in the beautiful state of Michigan and was involved in the Archery Club for a number of years.
Jim married his third wife, Sue Liston Sept. 11, 2000. He was stepfather to her son, David Fromholtz. They were married for 16 years.
Jim came from a large loving family. He was blessed with many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him. Jim enjoyed volunteering at the Love Kitchen in Pinetop in the last year of his life. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Russell Kear and Joyce Arvilla Kear, his brothers, Levi Mark Kear and Raymond Starr Kear.
He is survived by his eight children; seven grandchildren; sister Marcia McCloud; four nieces, Dawn Charese McCloud, Gioia Renae McCloud, Gena Marie (Nick) Neuroth and Kristan Kay (Rodney) Carroll and one nephew, Trevor Dean (Melissa) Kear; also four great nieces, three great nephews and his ex wives.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held Saturday, July 27, with a potluck lunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woodland Park, Ramada 2.
