"Following some unseen delays, we buried Jo in the Johnson family plot today (Tuesday, Aug. 20) in the New Ulm City Cemetery. It was a wet and windy day, but we were lucky enough to find a dry hour at 10 a.m. Fresh flowers from our garden. It was a private ceremony with just the funeral director, a representative of the Catholic church, Sharon and me. Prayers, a short eulogy by yours truly, then a cemetery worker closed the earth above the urn. Perhaps 20 minutes." — George L. Glotzbach, longtime friend of Jo's.

Seeing Jo’s face warms my heart, and knowing she’s home fills me with bittersweet joy. Rest in peace, beautiful friend. You taught us all so much.

Rest Peacefully Sweet Lady.

If it weren't for Jo I never would have had such success with my writing. She taught, encouraged and held my hand. God Bless and love her.
