Ruth Buttyan

Ruth Katherine Buttyan, 46, of Show Low, died early Saturday morning, March 23, 2019, at her home due to complications of Friedreich Ataxia, a disease she lived with for most of her life. She was born Jan. 2, 1973, in Show Low, to Donald and Elisabeth Buttyan.

Ruth was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. Life to Ruth was an adventure that she took advantage of any chance she could. She jumped out of plane because she was always up for a thrill. She pursued her love of learning to a masters degree on the other side of the country and eventually interned in Washington DC. She did all this with limited mobility. She was fiercely independent. She handled the hard parts of her life with a razor sharp sense of humor and everything she did, she did with the biggest smile on her face. She loved to laugh and had a laugh that you could pick out of a crowd. She was an intelligent, compassionate, funny, and loving person. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at Community Presbyterian Church, 1940 S Penrod Ln in Pinetop.
