I am writing this letter to express my support for Navajo County Board of Supervisors Resolution Number 13-19, allowing for the establishment of a jail district in Navajo County for the purpose of providing a dedicated revenue stream to support the county’s existing jail.

The creation of a jail district in the county would be of great benefit to the City of Winslow, allowing our city to better serve and protect our citizens and dedicate additional critical resources to bolster the presence of Winslow’s police patrols, further modernize and update our vehicles and equipment and utilize improved information technology and communications to serve our community.

With this in mind, I strongly endorse resolution 13-19 and fully agree that this initiative would serve to the benefit of the public interest of the City of Winslow.

Thomas McCauley,

Mayor, City of Winslow
