I am writing this letter to praise the first responders in our community.

We had a very significant fire at our cabin in April of this year. It had been our second home for 20 years and we were just getting ready to retire in the beautiful White Mountains for seven months out of the year. We lost both of our dogs due to smoke inhalation, which we will probably never get over. We have hardly any material items that were salvageable, but are blessed that we had great insurance.

The Timber Mesa 14 Fire Department were very quick to respond, very compassionate and took great care to try to save our fur babies.

Please take time to say thank you to our communities first responders. I wish we could give them an award for caring. You'll see some pies from us today.

Thank you Timber Mesa!
