SHOW LOW — During Memorial weekend, bulls-eye competitors from around the state made their way to the Second Knoll Target Range for two days of shooting competition. Relays were assigned for a day and time to compete in either the NRA Registered Conventional Pistol 2700 Match, or the NRA Registered 2019 WMSA Memorial Weekend Match. Two local competitors took top honors.

Brenda Silva of Snowflake, competing in the 2700 Match, won nine of 12 categories to finish with the Grand Aggregate of 2592 with 91X. The 2700 is shot with a .22, a centerfire and a .45. Brenda is a former Women’s National Champion and Olympic competitor.

The NRA Registered 2019 WMSA Memorial Weekend Match is a .22 ONLY Match. Top honors went to a newcomer to the sport, John Tod of Show Low, who won 11 of 12 categories to finish with the Grand Aggregate of 2299 with 30X. John is the Range Safety Officer Instructor for the Second Knoll Target Range.

The Second Knoll Target Range, located at US-60 in Show low, has eight clubs which shoot on a regular basis. Visit the range Saturday, Sunday and Monday or www.wmsainc.org for information about these clubs.
