Makai Funaki of Round Valley High School signs his national letter of intent to play football for Colorado State University at Pueblo while RV coach Marcus Bell, left, and Athletic Director Jeff Cochran join him at the table. CSU Pueblo is an NCAA Division 2 school. Funaki said, “I am happy to be a Thunderwolf. I am humbled by this opportunity and am very grateful to all that helped me along the way, especially my parents.” Funaki is the son of Aki and Lindy Funaki. He was a transfer to RVHS in the 2020 season from Pueblo West High School in Pueblo, Colorado, due to sports being canceled by the coronavirus. He will receive an athletic and academic scholarship and plans to major in exercise science.
