University of Arizona alumni in the White Mountains hosted the Bear Down in the Pines Golf Classic plus an awards dinner and auction at Pinetop Country Club on Saturday, June 22. The event is used to raise scholarship funds for incoming UA students. This year, five $250 book scholarships were awarded to scholars to use toward book purchases. The recipients are Emma Herrera of Show Low High School (studying nursing), Julia Way (studying education), and from Blue Ridge High: Avery Granillo (studying business), Savannah Tate (studying veterinary science), and Josiah Goode (studying engineering).

The UA Alumni Association welcomes these students to the Wildcat for Life family!

Eighteen foursomes took to the links at PCC on Saturday for the best-ball tournament and the team of George Mee, Justin Galvez, Nick Nogami and James Smith took first with a 55.

The team of Curt and Connie Hansen, Mark Ruiz and Kevin Bradley was second with a 62.
